“BEST THING THAT COULD HAPPEN FOR HIM”: RANGERS ON ANDRUS TRADE
A Ranger since 2007, Elvis Andrus proved an invaluable piece of the franchise’s greatest run. It’s a stretch that included back to back World Series appearances, including what would turn out to the most devastating moments in the team’s history when Texas was twice a strike away from beating the St. Louis Cardinals in Game 6 of the 2011 Fall Classic.
But with Isiah Kiner-Falefa slated to start at shortstop going forward and with the Rangers in rebuilding mode, they traded the two-time 32-year-old All-Star along with catcher Aramis Garcia and cash considerations for outfielder/designated hitter Khris Davis, catcher Jonah Heim, and right-handed pitcher Dane Acker.
Hector Ledesma has reaction from the Rangers.
