Dan’s Defense: What the Cowboys New DC Will Bring to the Table
It didn’t take Dallas very long to find its new defensive coordinator. That’s because there was one candidate that stood out above the rest.
Mike Nolan is gone after only one year as the Cowboys’ defensive coordinator, and now the team will turn to former Falcons head coach Dan Quinn to lead the defense.
Quinn has a history of being a defensive coordinator, leading Seattle’s “Legion of Boom” in 2013-14. Quinn’s defense helped the Seahawks reach the Super Bowl in those two years, including the franchise’s first-ever title.
As both a defensive coordinator and a head coach, Quinn’s defenses have used a 4-3 base defense, which should be a better fit for the Cowboys’ top defenders.
