Five Former Louisville Players Sue NCAA Over Sex Scandal
This Monday, the NCAA will announce the future host cities for the Men’s College Basketball Final Four, including whether or not San Antonio will have the chance to host again in the foreseeable future. However, the NCAA has been the subject of a lot of scrutiny in the basketball world lately, including a recent incident that could prove costly to the organization.
Last February, the Louisville Cardinals were forced to vacate their 2013 National Title and their 2012 Final Four appearance. Now, five former players are suing the NCAA for erasing their championship aspirations from college basketball history. The suit accuses the college sports governing body of tarnishing their reputations with a sex scandal. The investigation found that the former director of basketball operations arranged prostitutes for team prospects; the student-athletes claim they had no involvement in these violations of NCAA policies.
