LA HELPS SPURS SWEEP TWO OF LEAGUE’S BEST IN LA
On Tuesday the Spurs registered their best win of the young season when they knocked off Kawhi Leonard and the Clippers. Two nights later, the Silver and Black bested that effort with a 118-109 win against the defending champions.
LaMarcus Aldridge, saddled since the off-season with questions about how he’ll adapt to the ‘Bubble Spurs’ style of play, scores a game-high 28 points and the Lakers pulled Lebron James and Anthony Davis late, essentially conceding defeat.
Dejounte Murray added 18 points and 8 rebounds in exhibiting his growing game. DeMar DeRozan, who leads the team in scoring this season, put up 19 points and 8 assists.
With the win, San Antonio improves to 4-4 while dropping Los Angeles, who entered the night tied with Phoenix for the best record in the West, to 6-3.
The Spurs are at Minnesota tomorrow as they continue a five game road trip.
