SENIOR SPOTLIGHT: UIW Baseball’s Lee Thomas
The UIW Cardinals were hoping to carry over their momentum from their record-breaking 2019 season into the 2020 college baseball season. However, the club was only able to get in 16 games before their season was cut short due to the coronavirus pandemic.
Cardinals’ infielder, Lee Thomas, was off to a terrific start his senior year and was tied with the most hits on the team until he learned his final season had abruptly ended. However, it didn’t take long for the Cardinals leader to decide his business at UIW was not done yet.
Jill Jelnick catches up with Thomas as he gets ready to play in the Texas Collegiate League with the Flying Chanclas this summer.
