RUDY RED HOT, PATTY MAKES HISTORY: SPURS ROUT PORTLAND FOR 6TH W IN 8 GAMES
Led by four players who scored at least 20 points (first time a Spurs team has done that since 2010), including LaMarcus Aldridge who put in a team-high 22 against his old team, the Spurs blow out Portland 125-104. Coincidentally, the Spurs four leading scorers tonight were also their four players who are at least 30 years old: (Rudy Gay and Patty Mills 21 each, DeMar DeRozan 20). Mills became the NBA’s all-time career leader in three-pointers off the bench for one franchise, with 930 – passing Manu Ginobili.
Portland was without second-leading scorer CJ McCollum and Jusuf Nurkic. For the Spurs, this marks their sixth win since starting a five-game road trip against the Clippers on January 5th.
