Tompa Bay: Brady Brings Title to Tampa First Time in 18 Years
Tom Brady has done it again.
Eleven months ago the 43-year-old quarterback made the decision to continue his NFL career in Tampa Bay, where the last time the Buccaneers hoisted the Lombardi Trophy was 18 years ago.
The decision ended up being a good one.
“I think everybody believed we could win,” said Brady after the game. “Really all year we believed in our self. The coaches believed in us; we believed in ourselves. Again, we were going up against a great team tonight and we got the job done.”
In his first season with the Bucs, Brady led them to a 31-9 Super Bowl 55 victory over the defending Super Bowl Champion, Kansas City Chiefs. The game marked Brady’s 10th appearance in the Super Bowl, and his 7th championship, giving him more Super Bowl victories than any NFL franchise.
Brady was named the Super Bowl MVP for the fifth time in his career, finishing with three touchdowns on the night, including two to Rob Gronkowski.
