Update: President Trump Attacks NFL; Dez Bryant Goes After Jones, Witten
NFL commissioner Roger Goodell released a statement in which he said the NFL would “encourage all to speak out and peacefully protest.” Two days later, President Donald Trump took to Twitter and questioned Goodell’s statement, specifically asking if it meant that the league would allow players to protest during the national anthem.
One of the many voices speaking out against racial injustice the last several weeks is former Cowboys wide receiver Dez Bryant. Bryant called-out Cowboys owner Jerry Jones and former Cowboys tight end Jason Witten for not speaking out. Jill Jelnick has more in our Sports2Nite.com update.
