UPON NEW CONTRACT, EMOTIONAL WATSON REFLECTS WITH THOSE CLOSEST TO HIM

Clemson coach Dabo Swinney; Houston Astros pitcher Justin Verlander; Ethan Hughes, a leukemia patient from the Houston area whom Deshaun befriended through the Make-A-Wish program; former Gainesville High School assistant coach Michael Perry, and members of the Watson family all shared congratulatory words and reflections with the two-time Pro Bowl quarterback, whose four-year, $177.5 million contract extension includes $111 million in guarantees and keeps him under contract through the 2025 season. It’s the second richest contract in NFL history.
